This Weekend

Coach Baggs' wake and funeral were this weekend. It was a time of remembering Coach, supporting each other, sharing memories, and seeing old friends. Now that we have had our chance to say goodbye, we can focus on honoring his legacy. Eddy will continue to make him proud by being the best coach he can be. We will spend more time on our marriage, knowing our love is the center of our lives. And if it's possible, we will love Isaac even more, knowing that each day with him is a blessing.

Thank you to our friends and family who called and e-mailed with words of support. Thank you too, to Eddy's parents, brother and wife, and friends Lance and Jodi, who watched Isaac, on very short notice, so we could attend the wake and funeral. You helped lighten a very heavy load. We are truly grateful.

On a happier note, Isaac seems to have grown a lot this past week. He now says "look at me" if he's doing something and you're not watching him. Was that suppose to start so soon?! For the most part, potty-training is going well. There have been accidents, but we know that's to be expected. He gets to wash his hands with his "special soap" (green foaming soap) and put "monies" in his piggy bank when he uses the toilet. So far these are enough of a reward so we haven't had to resort to candy or toys. Even though our waterpark incident was awhile ago, he reminds us that it was "too loud" quite often! He's still sleeping in his crib, which is fine by us! Although now he has a little pillow he likes to lay on and be covered up with a snowman blanket that Great Grandma and Grandpa Tischer gave him. And how could I forget...he frequently reminds us that everything he sees is "mine".

Eddy took Isaac through the drive-thru at McDonald's for an ice cream cone last week and then went to the airport to watch the planes. So now when we drive by, he says "ice cream cone". Eddy was going to be home late one night last week, so we hit the drive-thru as well and I picked up a sundae for Isaac. Here's a video (sorry it's sideways).

It's a good thing you narrated what he says because I didn't catch a word! Moms, we're great at translating baby talk...
