We left Megan's in-laws today, after a very nice stay. PJ and Bridget are wonderful hosts an made us feel very welcome. We headed to neighboring town Westport, to do a little shopping. I had been thinking about something to buy as a special item as a remembrance of the trip. I bought enough Ireland paraphernalia the last time I was here! I decided that if I found a locket that I liked, I'd get it. After a couple jewelry stores, I found one!
The picture doesn't do it justice. Hard to take a picture of it, because it's so reflective!
We started to make our way back to Dublin, but stopped in Knock. Back in the mid 1800s, 15 people saw an apparition of the Virgin Mary. It was a pretty impressive shrine that's been set up. Below is a picture of what was seen, but in statue form.
He next picture is of holy water. At the many religious stores outside the shrine, you can buy containers and then fill them with holy water. Megan was a great daughter-in-law and got some holy water for her in-laws.
Another friend from college, Heidi, and her hubby will be flying in tomorrow morning!!
