He can jump and sing, too!

Last weekend Isaac figured out how to jump...I should clarify. If he could speak clearly, I'm sure he'd tell you he's been jumping for awhile. However, last weekend, he actually got his feet off the ground! The video below was the second time we saw him jumping. I love watching his feet leave the ground and the unbelievable look of pride in his face!

Eddy came home from work a little early today, which allowed me time to continue painting the living room after Isaac woke up from his nap. Isaac and Eddy were in the rec room playing and all of a sudden I hear Eddy singing Isaac a song, and Isaac accompanying him! It was adorable. So I got the video camera out and tried to capture it. Of course, he did better when he didn't know I was recording him, but the essence of it is there.

Guess I sound like a proud mama, huh?! It is so incredible to watch him learn new things and see the world from his point of view. I haven't seen him as much as I would have liked this week. The clinic that work at has installed an eletronic health record and all the providers "went live" two weeks ago. The first two weeks they lightened our schedules to accomodate our adjusting to it, but this past week it was back to "normal". Well, I was at work til 8pm on Tuesday and on Thursday I came home for supper and then went back to work and left at 9:15pm. Yuck. I'm trying really hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel! I know the electronic record will be great, once I'm proficient with using it.

On Wednesday morning our ECFE (early childhood family education) class went to a local park for our last meeting of the school year. Thinking about Isaac and my time in ECFE, I feel really fortunate that I went to the 6-week "newborn group" after Isaac was born. I met some great moms, three of whom have become wonderful friends. With working part-time, I was lucky to find another class last fall that worked with my schedule. In this years' group, I was again blessed to be surrounded by a group of moms (and a few dads!) who shared their experiences, nodded in agreement when frustrations were vented, and shared joy when milestones were reached. It will be strange not meeting every Wednesday at 10:30...but I intend to host a few playdates to keep the support network up, as well as watch our "babies" grow up!
