visiting the past and the lawnmower saga

Saturday morning we packed up and drove to Grand Rapids to a high school graduation open house--not a big deal in itself...except the girl graduating was FOUR when I started babysitting her! It was so great seeing Ashton, her younger (but now 14!) sister Michaela, and mom Paula. It was great to have Eddy and Isaac there, too, because we also saw several other important people from my past. It was a great trip!

When we got back on Saturday and for almost the whole day today, we worked on "settling in" to our new home. Eddy and I put up a bunch of pictures/art on the wall, organized some of the closets (a little bit, anyway!), and cleaned/organized the garage! We got rid of so much stuff before we moved, yet there was a decent-sized bag to bring to Goodwill and an even bigger bag of garbage. To think we moved all that crap. Ugh.

Eddy was itching to mow the lawn (besides baseball and golf, I think mowing is the only other thing he ever "itches" to do, ha ha). Well, litle did he know he was going to have a "helper". See the pictures below for the frame-by-frame story.

Isaac trying to chase Eddy (and the lawnmower) down:

Isaac VERY upset that he isn't given a chance to help:

Eddy's idea of letting Isaac help...it's all fun and games until someone loses an eye...mama put the kabosh on that one..:
A happy medium:

Although you can't tell by the picture, Isaac was really happy to be in the carrier! It was really nice spending a good portion of the day outside. We're crossing our fingers that winter is finally over!
