Rejuvinating weekend

I got to spend a long weekend at my sister's in St. Cloud this weekend. It was the longest I've been away from both kids. And I don't think I've been to see Lindsey by myself since before Isaac was born.

Part of my mother's day gift from Eddy was a spa day. So Friday afternoon Lindsey and I got massages, a facial, manicure, pedicure, and hairstyling. Below is the only picture I took all weekend.






Paul made a campfire that night and I had my first smores of the season! It was very strange waking up three mornings in a row on my own--without children beckoning!! We did a little garage-saleing Fri and Sat mornings. Saturday we hit the Albertville Outlets...for EIGHT HOURS!! We got Chinese for supper and let our feet rest while we ate and got caught up on some tv shows. This morning we went to church. Paul was the lector--there was a reading full of difficult-to-pronounce cities and languages. He did a great job!

Eddy sent me a few pictures of the kids this weekend. They spent some time at the aquarium and a local playground.

















Lindsey got a battery-operated dinosaur at a garage sale. I gave it to Isaac from her when I got home. It was a hit!





More than shopping or the chance to sleep in, I was able to just be me this weekend. Not wife, mother, house-cleaner, or errand-runner. I got to be with my sister. It was much needed and I am so fearful I got to do this.
