Another Crazy Summer!

As I was looking back on my recent blog posts, I realized I didn't share some fun news on our family blog...Eddy was hired as the Lakeshore Chinooks manager (aka, head coach) for the 2013 season! He was an assistant coach last summer (the reason for our crazy, crazy summer). He continued to talk with the general manager about the job and formally interviewed in December and again in early January. I was able to sit in on the interview with him in December. Obviously I'm biased, but he did an amazing job. He put together an incredible presentation and when a question was asked of him, he could reference his presentation, which to me showed them that he had already thought of their questions before they could ask them! I've always known that he has known the game and knows what he's talking about, but it was pretty awesome to watch him in action. The general manager asked me why I'm ok with him being away for another summer. My response to him was that if this job was a lateral move or a demotion, we wouldn't be sitting at the table. But this is a great opportunity for him. And for that, we'll make some sacrifices. And maybe I'm looking at the past with rose-colored glasses, but the kids and I had a pretty awesome summer.
