Labor Day Weekend Project

Eddy and I did a bunch of little random projects this weekend. The kind that no one would notice, unless you pointed it out.

But there was one project that was picture worthy. The area behind the swing set was getting over grown with weeds. I forgot to take a true before picture, but here's what the ground looked like after a night of weed pulling.

You can see what kind of weeds there were by looking in the woods.

Then, last night and today, I dug out 3 small Poplar trees and a ton of roots. While digging, i dug out a bunch of rocks, which I was able to use for the border between the landscaped area and woods. Then dug out grass, so that there was an even line, extending out from the existing landscape timbers. Then I laid down landscaping fabric and finally cedar chips.

I think I need to get a couple more bags of chips and there's a little bit of work to do where the landscape timbers end and run in to the neighbor's shrubs.

Overall, I'm pleased with how it turned out!
