baptism
Piper was baptized on Sunday. We are so grateful to our brother-in-law Paul, and very good friend, Courtney, for agreeing to be Piper's Godparents. Deacon Chico, who we've known since I was in college, baptized her. She wore the baptismal gown that both my sister and I wore, which was so special. Piper's cousin, Madi, was also there. As I've mentioned before, the girls were born on the same day, so it will be a lifetime of fun pictures together!

October 21
So, I just have to vent for a minute...Are people living under rocks and missing the memo that says they should stay home if they have flu-like symptoms? Unless you can't breathe or keep fluids down...STAY HOME! Oh, and if you just HAVE to come in, wear a mask...and keep it on when I come into the room. There. That's my PSA for the day.
Ok. Moving on. Eddy got the flu Friday morning, and I was scheduled to work. After work, I picked the kids up, didn't let them out of the car as I packed, and we headed to my parents' house for the weekend. Eddy's doing a lot better, but the fatigue is lingering. So far the rest of us are healthy. Keep your fingers crossed. My Dad sent a few pictures from the weekend. Since I haven't downloaded pics lately, I'm going to post the ones he sent.
Dad took Isaac out for a walk in the woods...not sure why Isaac's hat is over his eyes!
My little girl.
Issac was sitting listening to a kids' music CD.

A lot of catching up to do!
So much has been going on and I've wanted to post so many times...and yet, here we are. Another week and a half since I posted last. This is my attempt to get caught up. We'll start off by what we woke up to this morning. October 10. Yep. October 10.
A Newly Painted Bathroom
I'd been itching to do a little painting recently, so I decided the master bathroom would be a reasonable project to tackle in a day. Last summer I had painted the cabinet, bought new towel ring/paper towel holder/robe hook, spray painted the hardware, painted the light fixture and tried to patch some holes and paint over them. However, there are about 5 cans of taupe paint in our basement, and apparently, none of them are the master bath color. Ugh. A friend had painted her bathroom this really pretty light blue. More of an ice blue; bright, but not baby blue. We already had chocolate brown towels and shower curtain and light blue rugs and hand towels. So last Saturday I called her up to get the name of the paint and Sunday I went to town (even though Eddy was out of town!). Of course, once I started painting I saw all these little things that could be touched up. You'd never notice what I did, but I can.
The color is kinda hard to capture, but you get the idea.

The curtain hooks are brushed nickel squares that orginally had black centers. So I took the blue paint and painted the centers.

For the wall space next to the cabinet, I was considering getting a photo in "sepia" put on canvas, but with it being more expensive than I thought they were, I'll probably put up the two small art squares I had up previously.

It's amazing how a little bit of paint makes everything seem fresh and new!

New Videos
After several attempts at getting Piper to talk while I was videotaping, Isaac came over to join the action. You can hear him in the background saying "Oh, look at her". He can be so sweet...sometimes.
The following night I was able to get Piper's adorable voice on camera.
Isaac's favorite song to sing these days is "Old McDonald". He's still learning to E-N-U-N-C-A-I-T-E his words (either that, or he's just lazy!).

A Fashion Show
This morning I went through a box of my keepsakes. What resulted was Piper doing a fashow show of clothes that I wore when I was little!
This front carrier was made by one of my mom's friends

My mom started calling me "honey bunny" after getting this sleeper

Why didn't I go through this box sooner?! I would have loved to put Piper in a bonnet this summer!

There's more that I'm excited for her to try on...but they're bigger sizes, so there'll be more later.

Vocabulary of a 3 Year Old
I painted our master bathroom while Eddy was out of town earlier this week. As I was getting everything set to start painting, I accidentally broke a candle holder. Isaac heard the noise and me saying "uh oh". He comes running over to the bathroom door and says (in the 'right' tone of voice) "Oh damnit. It's ok, mama. It happens". I shake my head in shame, because I have no one else to blame but myself.
