What Is This??

Why did I take a picture of our dining room light? Well, if you look closely you can see Piper's bracelet that she got from Grandma Becky. How did it get there and how did I notice it? Isaac apologized at dinner last night for "accidentally dropping it". Now, how does one DROP it, when it is SIGNIFICANTLY over one's head, you ask? Silly, silly, it's not THAT much over your head when you STAND ON THE DINING ROOM TABLE.

What We've Been Up To

Eddy's been home for a week after being gone for 11 days in Arizona with his baseball team. They went 7-1 on the trip. But even better than that, I didn't go crazy! I don't know if I'm FINALLY getting used to it (after 8 years of marriage) or if it's because, with the kids getting older, it actually IS easier. I do know that spending a weekend with my sister and my mom coming up one weeknight helped.

Piper wearing her new Hello Kitty dress Grandma Becky gave her (and petting her blanket). I should also say she picked out the whole outfit. :)

Isaac wrote musical notes!

My sweet kiddos before bedtime.

Isaac started swimming lessons! He was "a little nervous about it", but he did great. They'll be every Saturday for 7 weeks.

We had a picnic supper on the deck, without coats, on March 24th!!

Isaac was invited to his first school friend birthday party. It was a superhero theme at a rollerskating rink! Walking in there was like a time warp. Brought me back to my childhood! He did pretty well for his first time.

I had to capture Piper falling asleep on my shoulder this week. I think she was a little under the weather. If I didn't have other stuff that needed to be done, I could have sat there for a long time. I miss holding a sleeping child.

And now, Eddy's gone for the weekend. We'll see what will keep us busy this time!

More Family Time

After leaving my sister's place on Sunday morning, she and Paul followed us to Pine City where my parents met us to celebrate our birthdays. It was windy, but nice enough to have lunch outside at a local park, open presents, and play on the playground.

With Dad's suggestion, Mom made TWO cakes--so we'd each have one!

After we left Pine City, I followed Mom to her apartment in Willow River. She was awesome and watched the kids while I went for a 5-mile run.

So grateful my kids get to see family often (now if only those darn Iowa cousins were closer!).

Fun With Family

We're spending the weekend with Lindsey and Paul and boy have my kids been spoiled! It was 70 degrees on Friday, so after a grilled salmon dinner, we walked down to the neighborhood park.

Piper had fun with her aunt and uncle!

Then it was time for smores by a fire! The next morning Lindsey and I were able to seek in a good run before going to the Bounce Depot--an inflatable bounce/slide place for kids. They had a blast!

After a lunch at McDonald's, we went to a self-serve yogurt shop where you pick your flavors and toppings. Sugar overload!

After a nap for Piper and movie for Isaac, we went back to the park where I was able to meet up with a college friend. The walk to and from the park is about as much fun as playing when we're there!

Then it was pizza and orange pop for dinner! The kids had a blast with their Auntie Lindsey and Uncle Paul today!

Birthdays

My birthday was on Monday. Family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers helped make it a great day. Since becoming a mother, MY birthday doesn't seem as important. Although, if no one said "happy birthday" to me, I'm sure it wouldn't feel good! On Monday, the kids sang me the happy bday song, Facebook friends sent wishes all day, there were treats at work (three of us had birthdays in two days), my in laws stopped over after work, Eddy had a steak dinner ready, and I got a new winter jacket! I'll be seeing my sister and her husband and my parents this weekend to celebrate. This picture is from my first run outside of 2012. My girlfriend crocheted the hat with a hole in the back for my ponytail!

Paper Chain

I'm taking the kids to my sister's and her hubby's house in a couple weeks. Isaac is so excited to go, he decided to make a paper chain!

Strep Throat

We have our first go-round of strep at the Morgan house. Isaac complained of a "sour throat" Monday and looked a little off, but we sent him off to school and told his teacher he wasn't feeling the greatest. I kept my phone handy while at work, expecting to get a call from school. But no call came. As I was wrapping up work, I decided to call daycare, thinking I could have him swabbed for strep in the clinic, if needed. My original plan was to work out, but didn't want to have to go to urgent care later. Long story short, I had him swabbed and he was positive. The clinic pharmacy was closed, so I dropped the kids off at home with Eddy and headed to Target. An HOUR later, and I finally had the prescription.

Eddy was headed down to the Metrodome for his team's season opener on Tuesday, so that meant I stayed home with the kids. Isaac perked up quite a bit. But, all day I considered getting Piper tested, but couldn't nail down any symptoms. However, we are supposed to get a major dumping of snow tomorrow and if she was positive and not treated until later in the day, she'd have to stay home on Thursday.

So, back in to the clinic we went later in the day on Tuesday. And....she's positive. So glad I brought her in. The clinic pharmacy was open, so it only took 7 minutes to get the prescription.

We had supper in the basement and are watching Princess And The Frog.
