Eddy was home this afternoon (he's been taking Wednesday afternoons off, since he has baseball in the evenings), while I went to an eye doctor appointment and then worked out. Apparently Piper wasn't interested in taking an afternoon nap (I think it has more to do with Daddy being home b/c usually she's a good napper!). Eddy left for baseball about 5pm and I got to experience Piper-without-an-afternoon-nap.
After that lovely performance, I took her out of the highchair. She proceded to climb back in by herself(first time she's done that). Then she spent the next 5 minutes trying to buckle herself back in. Once she figured it out, she would HOLLER at me, wanting me to unbuckle her, so she could do it again. over. and. over. again.

Fun with Grandparents
Over the past few weeks, the kids have been able to do some fun stuff with their grandparents. Isaac was wanting to have a tunnel for his Polar Express Train, so Papa came over to make one out of chicken wire and paper mache. Isaac started helping, but then didn't like his hands getting dirty, so he decided to rip the newspaper for Papa! He came back a few days later to paint it. Isaac had a blast!

We traveled to my parents' house a few weekends ago to celebrate my dad's birthday. Isaac spent A TON of time outside snowshoeing with my dad. We also did a little (nighttime and daytime) sledding down their driveway!

The weekend after we were at my parents', they decided to make a quick trip up to Duluth. They had given us 2 sets of snowshoes (!!!), so we went trekkin' around our yard. Piper wasn't too sure about it, but eventually warmed up!

We are lucky to have such awesome family!

Trip to the Cities
Eddy had to do some work in the Cities, so we decided to make it a family trip. We went to the Model Train Railroad Museum in St. Paul. It was amazing! They had a family night show, where all the overhead lights were off, so there was a real atmosphere about it. Isaac was in heaven! There was so much to see and there was an area where kids could use the remote to "drive" the trains. Definitely will be going there again.
Getting ready to go in!

My sister was also in the Cities that weekend, so she was able to come over to our hotel for a little while. It was so great to see her, but wish it could've been for longer!

The Morgan-side Christmas
We drove down to Davenport, IA to do the Morgan-side Christmas at Eddy's sister and family's house. The weather wasn't great on the way down, but overall the trip went ok. The kids were great. I took some pics on my phone of what the kids did on the trip (a collage from the way down and the way back):

Isaac got a super-sugary snack:
Piper needed HER OWN container of ketsup for her fries while making a stop at McDs

LITERALLY 10 minutes before we got home, I looked back, and Isaac had fallen asleep (for the first time in 10 hours of driving!):
Eddy's brother and family and his parents also drove down from Duluth. Carrie and Aaron moved to Davenport over a year ago and it was the first time we saw their new home. It's a great house. There were 8 adults and 7 kids staying in the house for a long weekend! Of course the kids loved opening ALL the presents. The adults had some great conversation. Eddy's brother-in-law took us running outside (in 18 degree weather and strong wind gusts)along the Mississippi. And Carrie (Eddy's sister) took Jamie (Bob's brother) and I out shopping for an afternoon. It was a great trip!

The Morgan siblings and their families:

All the grandkids--and they're all looking at the camera!

Then we tried getting one of Papa and Grandma Judi with the grandkids:

And by the end, the kids (and Grandma Judi!) had had enough!!
