Sunny Afternoon

We headed down to the Lakewalk this afternoon. It was actually warmer down there, compared to at our house.

Isaac thought it was his turn for a ride.

Girls sportin' shades!

Isaac was VERY excited to see the train go by! It looks like he was leaping for it!

We stopped at the local meat market and grilled for supper, along with corn on the cob, strawberries, and watermelon. Yum!

Weekend At Hotel Menard

We had a wedding to attend of a UWS baseball player this weekend. It was near St. Cloud, so we could stay with my sister and her hubby. Even better, they watched the kids so we didn't have to bring them to the wedding! Saturday morning we went to one of four splash pads in St. Cloud. It was amazing! Not only did it have a huge area with all types of water fountains, toys, and all things water (but no standing water), it also had a huge playground, a train, and picnic tables. I want one in Duluth! If we didn't have the wedding to go to, we could have been there all day.

This area was great for littler kids. Piper loved it!

Very interested in the water!

Isaac took awhile to warm up to the water. He loved the playground and the train.

Awww...what a cute family! Wait, those are MY kids!

Piper's just starting to stand unsupported for a few seconds!!

Thanks, Lindsey and Paul, for being such great hosts! We wished we lived closer.

Little Dip in the Big Lake

We headed down to Lake Superior last evening for a little dip. It was cool, but not body-numbing cool! Didn't bring my actual camera, so we couldn't zoom in, but we got a few pics anyway.

Piper and I were only waist deep. The water was crystal clear.

Eddy sportin' a pose!

Isaac did not want to put his suit on, nor go in the water.

(notice the wet shorts!)

Piper was her usual, a little fish!

I was working on getting her suit on, when she crawled away and into the water. Oh well. Swimming naked is a perk of being a baby, I guess! (I almost said "toddler", but can't quite call my little girl that yet!)

By the end of our time there, Isaac decided he wanted to pit his suit on. Well, now he couldn't wear it, because he'd need to change into something dry for the car ride home. So again, a perk of being a kid!

Last Weekend

Last weekend was spent having a great time at the cabin...and we get to go again this weekend!

My aunt Diane knit this hat for Piper's birthday! There are little knit rosettes on the top of it. The picture doesn't do it justice! And the swim suit was from Eddy's sister and family--cute flamingo!
Awww...how cute!I can't remember the last time we had a picture of just the two of us!
The kids splashing in the water.

We've taught Isaac that if he is on the beach, he needs to have a lifejacket on. He wouldn't even take it off during mealtime!
Grandma Becky was trying to feed Piper, but she was more interested in what Grandpa J had!
Last July 4 I had Eddy take a picture of the kids and I...

... so now, starting a tradition! I can't believe how big the kids are getting!

Isaac putting his arm around his (usually not so shy!) friend Myla, at the Superior July 4 parade!
Isaac marching instep with the bagpipers.
Our little girl, all decked out for the holiday.

Cabin

I actually used my camera for most if the pics I took today (a rarity since getting my iPhone), so I don't have many to post.
The scene at the cabin shortly after we arrived:

Piper showing off her new flamingo swim suit she got from Eddy's sister and family and the new knit hat that Aunt Diane made for her!

The hat is so adorable, it (almost, but not quite) makes me sad the weather's too nice ti need it!!
Isaac and Grandpa J with their hats on.

Goodnight!

Funny Kids

This is what we woke up to when we checked on Piper this morning!

We're on the way to the cabin for the day. This is what Isaac does with his blanket when he wants to take a nap!

We're hoping for a nice day at the cabin today. Will watch some fireworks over the lake tonight, then put the kids in pjs and drive home. Parade tomorrow afternoon and then more fireworks!! Should be a good weekend.
